AKP01US Targus Wireless, Mediocre

Mediocre

I would actually recommend against this item. The range on the keypad either sucks or the item itself is faulty. I can have the keypad in my lap and my laptop less than a foot away and the keypad will skip numbers when I’m trying to calculate or type in a string of numbers. It also seems to independantly turn off the number lock key. Save your money.

Update (5/18/2012): This item is currently on sale here for the lowest price I’ve seen. I also found some auctions for this item here.

I love this keypad!
I have not had any of the problems described by other reviewers. I highly recommend this product!

I will agree that the receiver that plugs into the USB port is a little on the fat side, and makes it a little difficult to use my second USB port, although not impossible.

I’m not sure why people were sitting 3 feet away from their computer using their keypad - I usually have it on my desk next to my laptop, or I sit back in my chair with the keypad in my hand.

The only time I had problems with it picking up what I was typing was when the battery was low. I changed the battery and the problem was solved!

Not bad
This product works very well and is easy to use. The only draw back I have noticed is that my coworker has the same keypad and we cannot both use them at the same time. If we both have the receivers plugged in, whatever I type shows up on both screens.
