Black & Decker CO1200B, A waste of money.

A waste of money.

I curse this every time I try to use it. It’s true that it takes several attempts to get the can lined up properly so it will work. It is much faster to use a hand-held opener.

Once the can is lined up and it is working, it not only opens the can, but it always takes a thin layer of paper off the can. When I take my can off the opener, I always have to pick little shreds of paper out of the product.

Update (5/18/2012): This item is currently on sale here for the lowest price I’ve seen. I also found some auctions for this item here.

Worst can opener I’ve ever owned.
This a doubt one of the worst clubs I ever owned! I bought it because it is attractive and will accept the boxes above. It is attractive, but not very functional. It is therefore very difficult to get the position just might, it is open, it takes 5 or 6 tries just to make it work. The receiver "lid" of your block mechanism so that it is almost impossible to position the can properly. Also when you remove the can, cutting compensation mechanism slides open arms over time. Do not but this product is poorly designed!

Attractive But Annoying
This can opener is attractive and very functional except for one very annoying problem. The lever that punctures the lid and holds it in removes very easily for cleaning. However, it removes a little too easily. In fact, it’s almost impossible to remove the opened can from the opener without removing the lever assembly also. That means that the lever (and magnetically attached lid) falls into the can or worse on your countertop. It’s also a bit of a trick to get the can lined up just right to puncture the lid and open the can.
