It works…
To be clear, the chime piece DOES require a wall plug, so the statement in the product descrption:
“The batteries for the push buttons are included, along with all the mounting hardware you’ll need. Note that you will have to supply three D batteries for the chime.–Josh Dettweiler”
is not accurate - the button batteries are included, but the chime piece does not require batteries.
I was hoping it was battery power so I could place it higher for better sound and signal reception.
The chime speaker is weak, it doesn’t have a really clear tone, and with no volume control, its not very loud either.
Wireless reception from the buttons is average.
A happy accident: I bought Heath Zenith Wireless Plug-In Chime with Entry-Alert Sensor, White #SL-6168-C which is NOT a doorbell but an entry alarm. However the chime units are Interchangeable!
The chime in the product above has a MUCH better speaker and volume control - I wish it had been included in THIS product (they function the exact same other than the volume knob, they even have the same tunes and jumper setup)
I plugged in both chimes, one near the door and one farther into the house, and both sound on button press, so you can chain multiple chimes from the various Heath Zenith wireless products

Works well, but chime sound could be nicer
I purchased this set of two doorbells and a chime to add on to my existing Heath Zenith Wireless Plug-In Chime with Entry-Alert Sensor, White #SL-6168-C so that we could have a second chime upstairs. It was a bonus to add doorbells by our exterior screen doors. As another reviewer said, the chime on this “Heath Zenith Basic Wireless Plug-In Door Chime with Two Transmitters” does not have a very nice sound. It sounds like a small speaker with the volume turned way up resulting in distortion. It only has two sound options– one or two notes. The chime that came with the other system, the “Heath Zenith Wireless Plug-In Chime with Entry-Alert Sensor”, has a nicer sound and also offers an additional 8 note sound. The doorbells from this system have worked well during the low temps we’ve had over the past couple of weeks. Although I am not sure how long the doorbell will last once the Spring rains come. One time this chime did not sound upstairs (but the other chime downstairs did), otherwise both systems have worked well.
I would buy Heath Zenith alert systems again, but they should make all of the chimes like the one from the “Chime with Entry-Alert Sensor” system.

Thanks to a reviewer, I got exactly what I wanted.
Thanks to the reviewer that mentioned that the chime unit is NOT battery powered. I didn’t want battery power in the chime. However the push buttons are battery powered and supposedly work 75 feet from the chimes. I have not tested this, but I have the pushbuttons on the first floor and the chimes are upstairs and they work quite well. The push buttons are not round, as in the picture, but rectangular. One is white, the other is off-white.
The volume is strong and we can hear the chimes throughout the house.
I got exactly what I wanted.
